Leading with Purpose, Delivering with Transparency
When I took office as your Councilwoman, I made a commitment—not just to serve, but to lead with intention, transparency, and accountability.
The first 100 days have been nothing short of eye-opening, challenging, and deeply rewarding. This role is not just about sitting at the dais—it’s about showing up, asking questions, and standing firm on behalf of the people of Jonesboro.
Here’s what we’ve been working on.
Putting Transparency Front and Center
From day one, I made it clear: you deserve access to information.
That’s why I pushed to bring back a monthly community newsletter—a tool designed to keep residents informed, engaged, and connected. This wasn’t just about communication—it was about restoring a direct line between City Hall and the people.
And we got it done.
This newsletter will be for the people, by the people, because your voice matters in shaping our city.
Holding the Line on Accountability
Leadership means asking the hard questions—even when it’s uncomfortable.
Over the past 100 days, I have:
-
Pressed for clarity on financial processes and reporting
-
Asked critical questions about budget amendments and reserve funds
-
Advocated for structured, transparent governance practices
-
Pushed for updates and accountability on the forensic audit
Because here’s the truth:
We cannot lead effectively without understanding how decisions are made and how money is being managed.
Strengthening Governance & Structure
A strong city requires strong systems.
That’s why I’ve worked to:
-
Advocate for parliamentary procedure training to ensure our meetings are structured, fair, and effective
-
Support clearer processes between Council, staff, and administration
-
Advance conversations around improved communication and operational flow
Good governance isn’t about control—it’s about clarity, consistency, and respect for process.
Bringing Government Into the Community
I believe leadership doesn’t happen behind closed doors—it happens in the community.
Through initiatives like The Growth Series, we’ve created spaces for real conversations, real solutions, and real connection. Whether we’re talking about community development, sustainability, or simply coming together—we are planting seeds for long-term growth.
We also brought energy and pride to our city through events like Trash War Southside, where residents of all ages showed up, showed out, and took ownership of keeping Jonesboro clean.
Because this city belongs to all of us.
Supporting Local, Building Local
Economic growth starts at home.
I’ve made it a priority to highlight and support local businesses, encourage residents to shop local, eat local, and enjoy local, and build partnerships that strengthen our local economy.
When our businesses thrive, our community thrives.
Elevating Volunteer Leadership
Our boards, authorities, and committees are filled with individuals who volunteer their time to serve this city.
I am proud to support efforts that:
-
Increase visibility into their work
-
Strengthen communication between boards and Council
-
Recognize the value they bring to moving Jonesboro forward
Because leadership doesn’t sit in one seat—it’s shared across our entire city.
The Reality of the Work
I’m going to be honest with you—the first 100 days have not been easy.
Balancing this role, my professional responsibilities, and continuing my education has required discipline, sacrifice, and focus. But I remain committed because this work matters.
Every decision.
Every vote.
Every conversation.
It all impacts you.
Looking Ahead
We’ve made meaningful progress—but we are just getting started.
There is still work to do:
-
Strengthening financial transparency
-
Improving internal processes
-
Expanding community engagement
-
Delivering clear and consistent communication
And I will continue to show up, speak up, and stand firm in doing what’s right for our city.
My Commitment to You
I ran on a promise—and I intend to keep it.
Transparency. Accountability. Community.
Not just words—but actions.
Thank you for trusting me to serve. Thank you for your support. And thank you for continuing to be engaged in the future of Jonesboro.
Forward with Fox. One Jonesboro.
